I've seen a lot of posts about happiness recently. They say that happiness isn't about getting what you want. It's about being happy with what you have. I say that's bullshit. Happiness is about doing the right thing. It's about doing the hard things rather than the easy things. It's about knowing what you believe and standing steadfast for them despite any opposition. It's about standing up for people who aren't as strong as you are. It's about making a positive difference for one person or for a group of people. It's about giving back from the bounty you have, no matter how meager. It's about being vulnerable and caring even when it hurts more than you can endure. It's about being able to look anyone in the eye without blinking. Happiness isn't about things or other people at all. It's about being true to what you believe and acting on those beliefs. Things are just things and like us they pass away. The light that we shine in this dark world through our action endures. Go be happy.
